Buying for someone who always has one eye on the departures board is harder than it looks. They already own a neck pillow, they have strong opinions about suitcases, and anything bulky is a nuisance in a cabin bag. This is our 2026 guide to Christmas gifts for travellers in the UK: prices in pounds, ideas for every budget from a £10 Secret Santa to a proper main present, and a plain-English note at the end on when to order so it arrives before the 25th.
How we chose these gifts (useful on the trip vs. treasured after it)
The best Christmas gifts for travel lovers tend to fall into two camps. Some earn their place in the bag on every trip. Others look after the memories once the suitcase is back in the loft. A good present does one of those jobs really well, so we asked four questions of everything on this list:
- Is it small and light? Frequent travellers guard every centimetre of hand luggage.
- Will it get used on more than one trip? Novelty that only works once tends to end up in a drawer.
- Do they already have three of them? Seasoned travellers own the basics, so upgrades beat duplicates.
- For keepsakes: does it give tickets and photos somewhere better than the kitchen drawer?
A note on honesty: we sell the Memory Box and a handful of travel accessories, and we've flagged our own products as ours. Everything else here is a general type of gift you can pick up from plenty of UK shops. We haven't quoted other retailers' prices, because they change all the time.
A keepsake for every ticket from next year's trips
Most travellers come home with a pocketful of paper: boarding passes, metro tickets, gallery stubs, a festival wristband they couldn't quite bring themselves to cut off. It usually lives in a drawer until the next clear-out. A keepsake gives all of that a home, and it's the one gift on this list that gets better every time they travel.
The Wandersake Memory Box (Medium 20cm £34.95, Large 30cm £39.95)
The Wandersake Memory Box is a square shadow-box frame with a thin slot cut into the top edge. After each trip, you post the ticket, boarding pass, photo or postcard through the slot and it collects behind the clear acrylic front, which carries a single thin black wire outline of the world map. When it's time to rearrange, the back panel opens with release tabs. It hangs from a hook on the back or stands on a shelf, and it comes in White, Black or Natural Wood in both sizes.
- Medium (20 x 20cm, £34.95): a good fit for city breaks, gig tickets and train tickets. A full-size airline boarding pass is about 20cm long, so it goes in short end first and sits at an angle or upright rather than flat.
- Large (30 x 30cm, £39.95): the better choice for frequent flyers with lots of full-size boarding passes, or anyone who collects A6 postcards.
Make it personal before you wrap it. Post one thing in first: a photo from a trip you took together, a handwritten note, or the ticket from the day you met. It turns a nice frame into a present only you could have given. (The tickets and souvenirs in our photos are there for illustration and don't come with the box.)
Make it a bigger present: The Traveller Gift Set (£66.99)
If you'd like one gift that covers both the trip and the homecoming, The Traveller Gift Set brings together a Medium Memory Box in the colour of your choice, a leather AirTag Passport Cover and a Personalised Leather Luggage Tag, for less than buying the three separately. Two practical notes. The items may arrive in separate parcels, so don't panic if one turns up first. And because the luggage tag is personalised, double-check the initials before you order: personalised items are excluded from our 14-day returns.
Practical gifts for the person who's always at the airport
For the friend who knows their way around every terminal, useful beats novelty: travel Christmas gifts that get packed, not admired once and forgotten.
A leather AirTag passport cover
Our AirTag Passport Cover (£31.95) is a slim tan leather cover with a pocket on the front for an Apple AirTag, slots for cards and a boarding pass, sized to fit a UK passport. An honest caveat: the AirTag isn't included, and AirTags are set up with an iPhone or iPad and tracked in Apple's Find My app, so this one is best for Apple users. If they're on Android, pick something else from this list.
A personalised leather luggage tag
Spotting your case on the carousel is easier when it's wearing a soft leather tag with your initials or name in gold foil. Ours costs £9.95, measures about 15 x 4.5cm and takes up to 10 characters. You'll find it, and the passport cover, in our travel accessories.
Kit they'll actually pack: adaptor, packing cubes, reusable bottle, travel journal
- A universal travel adaptor. One plug for every destination beats a tangle of single-country adaptors. Check it has the right USB ports for their phone and laptop.
- Packing cubes. A set in mixed sizes is a quiet revelation for anyone who travels with hand luggage only.
- A reusable water bottle. Collapsible ones save space, go through security empty and get filled up airside.
- A travel journal. Pocket-sized, with a folder at the back for tickets. Ideal for the person who swears they'll remember the name of that little restaurant (they won't).
The biggest risk with practical gifts is buying something they already own. If you can, slip a casual question into conversation in November about what let them down on their last trip.
Travel stocking fillers under £15
Good travel stocking fillers are small, flat and genuinely handy. From our own range:
- Flag Sticker Set, £9.95: 192 country flags in waterproof, easy-peel vinyl, for marking off every country they've visited on a suitcase, laptop or journal.
- Globe & Plane Keyring, £10.95: a polished metal keyring with a spinning globe and a little aeroplane charm.
- Personalised Leather Luggage Tag, £9.95: as above, and it fits neatly in a stocking.
- Memory Box Display Stand, £10.95: a simple wooden easel for anyone who already has a Memory Box and wants it on a desk, shelf or mantelpiece.
A few more small ideas you'll find on the high street (prices vary, so check before you buy):
- An eye mask and earplugs for overnight flights and noisy hostels
- A set of refillable travel bottles for toiletries
- A cable organiser pouch, so chargers stop living in a knot at the bottom of the bag
- A digital luggage scale for weighing hold bags before setting off for the airport
- A pocket phrasebook for wherever they're heading next year
Secret Santa gifts for travel lovers (around a £10 budget)
Secret Santa is a different challenge. You might not know the person well, and nobody wants more clutter. The safest Secret Santa gifts for travel lovers are unisex, useful and not too personal. Three from our range, and one from anywhere:
- Flag Sticker Set (£9.95). Works for anyone who's been abroad, and makes a good office conversation starter.
- Globe & Plane Keyring (£10.95). A whole 95p over a strict £10 limit, so check how seriously your organiser takes the rules.
- Personalised Leather Luggage Tag (£9.95). Only if you're certain how they spell their name, because personalised items can't be returned.
- A small travel notebook or a luggage strap. Easy to find and hard to get wrong.
Christmas gifts for travellers who have everything
For the person with a passport full of stamps and a perfectly organised wash bag, the best Christmas gifts for travellers who have everything are personal rather than practical.
- A home for their memories. A memory box with one thing from a shared trip already posted inside, or a note listing the places you'd love to go together next.
- A printed photo book of the year's trips. Holiday photos have a habit of never leaving the phone. A book of this year's best is quick to make online and lovely to open.
- An experience closer to home. A cookery class in a cuisine they fell for abroad, a guided city walk, or a day out by train somewhere neither of you has been.
- The next trip itself. A handwritten voucher for "a weekend away, I'll book it" costs nothing to wrap and is very hard to beat.
What about travel Christmas gifts for her, or travel Christmas gifts for him? Honestly, the two lists overlap almost entirely. Choose by how someone travels, not who they are:
| If they... | Try | Budget |
|---|---|---|
| Fly for work every other week | AirTag passport cover and a personalised luggage tag | £41.90 for both |
| Save up for one big long-haul trip | Large Memory Box, with room for full-size boarding passes | £39.95 |
| Love city breaks and gigs | Medium Memory Box plus a set of packing cubes | £34.95, plus the cubes |
| Keep count of countries | Flag Sticker Set and a travel journal | £9.95, plus the journal |
| Deserve the whole lot | The Traveller Gift Set | £66.99 |
Gifts for travelling couples
Buying for two people who travel together? One memory box for both of their tickets often works better than two separate presents, especially for a first Christmas in a new home, an engagement or a wedding. Our guide to gifts for couples who love to travel has more ideas at different budgets.
When to order Christmas gifts for UK delivery
We deliver to UK addresses only, by tracked delivery that usually takes 5-7 working days. It costs £3.99 and is free on orders over £50. Working days are Monday to Friday and don't include bank holidays. In 2026, Christmas Day falls on Friday 25 December and the Boxing Day bank holiday moves to Monday 28 December.
Working backwards from Christmas, using the slower end of our estimate (seven working days, counted from the next working day after you order):
| If you order by | It should arrive by | Our view |
|---|---|---|
| Monday 7 December | Wednesday 16 December | Comfortable, with time to wrap |
| Friday 11 December | Tuesday 22 December | Fine, but with less room for delays |
| Monday 14 December | Wednesday 23 December | Cutting it fine: any hold-up and it could miss Christmas |
These dates are estimates based on our usual delivery times, not guarantees, and December is the busiest time of year for UK parcel carriers. If you can, order in the first week of December. And if you've left it very late, a printed photo of the present tucked inside a card still counts.
FAQs
What do you buy someone who travels a lot?
Look for something that improves every trip or celebrates the ones they've already taken. Frequent travellers usually own the basics, so choose upgrades: a leather luggage tag, a passport cover with an AirTag pocket, or a good set of packing cubes. For something more personal, a memory box gives their tickets and boarding passes a proper home.
What's a good small gift for a traveller?
Small, light and genuinely useful always wins. A flag sticker set for marking off countries, a keyring, a personalised luggage tag, an eye mask or refillable travel bottles will all fit in a stocking without taking up precious space in a cabin bag. Our sticker set, keyring and luggage tag are all around £10, which makes them handy for Secret Santa too.
What's a sentimental gift for someone who loves travelling?
Anything that turns their trips into something they can see every day. A memory box they post tickets into, a photo book of the year's travels or a framed map of the places they've been all work well. Add something only you could give, such as a ticket or photo from a trip you took together.
